    THE STORM of last week was very severe with us, but much more so in other parts. At Manchester several unfinished buildings were blown down. At Keene and in that vicinity much damage was done. - Several barns and sheds were unroofed, chimnies and trees were blown down.     1893  HEAVY FIRE IN BUFFALO. FIRE EARLY THIS MORNING DESTROYS PROPERTY VALUED AT $750,000.
    Buffalo, Dec. 14 - Fire this morning destroyed the Arcade building on Main street, including ROBINSON Musee, SHEAS music hall and several stores, including YENXA'S large grocery. The loss is estimated at three-quarters of a million. A number of people were sleeping in the Musee and barely escaped with their lives. The burned buildings occupied half a square in the business heart of the city. The fire originated in an explosion in an engine room.

    1892  Fire at Battle Creek.
    BATTLE CREEK, Mich., Dec. 13. - Special Telegram - Fire in William C. Gage & Sons' Railroad and Job Printing House to-night damaged the electrotype foundry, but was confined to the fourth story. The machinery and printing supplies were saved with little damage. The foundry and bindery are a total loss, but fully insured.

    During the battle of Saint-Eustache on 14 December 1837, the church was burned and the following day Saint-Benoît was ransacked and many houses destroyed despite having surrendered.
