1903 LIGHTNING KILLS A BANKER. James Elliott, President of Thompson Bank, North Grosvenordale, Conn., Struck While Walking - Daughter Escapes.
NORTH GROSVENORDALE, Conn., July 14. - James Elliott, fifty-five years old, President of the Thompson Bank in this town, was struck by lightning and instantly killed while walking toward his home late this afternoon. Mr. Elliott was accompanied by his daughter, who was temporarily stunned by the same stroke of lightning which killed her father. Mr. Elliott was one of the most prominent citizens in this town. He is survived by a widow and four children.
