    MONONGAHELA, Pa., June 19. - Three miners are dead, two others perhaps fatally burned, and fifteen entombed, many of whom are supposed to be dead from an explosion at the Ellsworth No. 1 mine of the Pittsburg Coal company near here today.     Randolph, June 20. - Another accident was added to the toll on the Central Vermont railway this morning at 2:50 o'clock when north bound Montreal sleeper, known as train No. 1, "sideswiped" the engine on the south bound freight extra, which was on what is known as the west siding.     Southampton, Mass. - (UPI) - Sen. EDWARD M. KENNEDY, suffered a broken back and two other men were killed when a light plane crashed Friday night in dense fog in an apple orchard.

    KENNEDY was in fair condition at Cooley-Dickinson Hospital in nearby Northampton.

    Doctors said, "There are no head injuries and no neurological findings. He has complete use of his legs and hands."

    While repairing a barn for E. M. Hubbard Saturday, June 17, Henry and Daniel Flinton fell with a staging which broke while they were working upon it.     1868  A tomb in the old burying ground in Danvers, Mass., holding the remains of the Putnam family for generations past, was recently broken into by some boys,
    who stole the silver plates from the coffins, and carried off and sold the bones to peddlers. One of the parties was caught, which led to the detection of others,. When arrested, they had a basket of bones with them, and were playing foot-ball with the human skulls taken from the tomb.

    1911  MONTGOMERY. John Lafountain Injured by Fall as Staging Gives Away.
    While shingling the roof of Leo Bombard's barn the staging upon which John Lafountain was working gave away and Mr. Lafountain fell to the ground striking his head upon a stick of timber and being rendered unconscious for a short time. A physician was called and though no bones were found to be broken he is badly bruised about the head and one side.
