Atlanta, Ga., Nov. 20. - At least three persons were killed, a dozen injured, and $200,000 property damage was caused yesterday by a fire that raged through the five story Cable Piano Company building in the heart of Atlanta's downtown business section.
Flames swept quickly up through an elevator shaft to all floors of the structure following an explosion of undetermined origin in the basement. Firemen finally brought them under control after a terrific struggle.

Atlanta, Ga., Nov. 20. - At least three persons were killed, a dozen injured, and $200,000 property damage was caused yesterday by a fire that raged through the five story Cable Piano Company building in the heart of Atlanta's downtown business section.

Johnson, Paige, and Pierce Secure Three Large Bucks in Bloomfield. Dr. H. H. Johnson, of North Main St., Dr. S. W. Paige, of Bank st., and Dr. H. L. Pierce, of Swanton, returned home this afternoon from a few days' hunting trip to Bloomfield. They secured three bucks averaging 200 pounds each. The party made the trip by motor.

There was, it is said, admitted to the Harvard (Mass.) poor-house the other day a man who at one time was partner in a large manufacturing concern in Boston and subsequently filled the position of cotton buyer for a New York firm at a salary of $18,000 per year. - Boston Journal.

Though Morgan's was not the first traffic signal (that one had been installed in London in 1868), it was an important innovation nonetheless: By having a third position besides just "Stop" and "Go," it regulated crossing vehicles more safely than earlier signals had.
