    Dudley, Mass. Sept 3, (A.P.) - The air express plane operated by the Colonial Air Transport, Inc., which left Boston at 7:15 last night, was forced down here at about 9:30 by rain and fog. The plane landed without accident in a hayfield on the farm of Warren Bates and took off again at 1:05 this morning for Brainard field, Hartford, Conn.

    Railway Accident in Connecticut - Remarkable Escape from a Serious Disaster.

    NEW BRITAIN, Conn., Sept. 3. The early morning passenger train, Conductor Densmore, bound east from Brewster's, jumped the track half a mile east of New Britain at 8:40 this morning owning to a misplaced switch, which threw the train on to a siding. The engineer James Allen, was seriously cut about the head and arms. No passenger was injured. The engine and tender are a complete wreck.

ALBANS, Vt., Sept. 2. - A serious accident occurred on the Central Vermont Railroad Saturday night at Colchester, where two passenger trains collided and thirteen trainmen received more or less severe injuries.     1870  A one armed newspaper carrier in Everett, Mass., has at odd times built himself a two-story French-roofed house, 26 by 32. All the work was done by him except raising the frame, setting the door and window frames, and the plastering.

    1896  Gotta De Mon' - An Italian Banker Skips From Providence, Rhode Island
    Providence, R. I., Sept. 2. - The Banca Popolare has closed its doors and today there was an excited lot of depositors in the Italian colony on Federal hill. The institution was run by Valentino and Plumbo, and the latter is missing. He departed Saturday last, leaving four children behind. Valentino is making a hunt for the whereabouts of his missing partner; so are the authorities. Many Italians who deposited money to be sent home, are the sufferers. Liabilities and assets are unknown.
